God Is Aware Of All Of Our Needs

The financial area is a very real part of each of our lives. It affects us everyday. The Bible is a book that is filled with real answers to real problems. It addresses every area that we face in life.

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
3 John 2

Bible prosperity does not just have to do with the financial realm. True prosperity is the ability or "know how" to draw upon the resources of God, no matter what the need is, to meet the needs of mankind. "Oh Lord, open our eyes to Your provision and how to partake of it."

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work." 2 Cor 9:8

Learning To Let God Be Our Source

Learn to realize that God is your SOURCE. This does not just just apply in spiritual things but in all things. God has committed Himself to us even in the financial area:

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

It is very important that our trust and confidence be in God in all areas. We are warned against trusting in the flesh or our own abilities (Jer 17:7-8). Fruitfulness comes from having our confidence in the right place. The Psalmist said: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want (lack)..."

If God is our Shepherd, He will take care of us. But a good question might be, "But how do I tap into His provision?" The answer to that question is that God's grace (ability and provision) comes to us in an area as we yield that area to Him.

James 4:6 says, "..God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

As we surrender an area to Him, He becomes Lord of that area. Any area that He is in charge of, He becomes responsible for. But how do we yield the financial area to Him? The answer is found in the Proverbs 3:9-10:

"Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So you barns will be filled with plenty, And you vats will overflow with new wine."

As we honor God, He will honor us. We honor Him by giving to Him the firstfruits of all our increase. Also called "the tithe" or a tenth of our income. In Leviticus 27:30 He says, "And all the tithe of the land......is the Lord's. It is holy to the Lord." When we yield an area to the Lord, by obedience to Him, He will fulfill His word to us. He will "fill our barns with plenty and cause our vats to overflow with new wine."

In the book of Malachi He makes an incredible promise to us and challenges us to test (prove) Him in it.

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house. And try me now in this," Says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes...."
Malachi 3:10-11

This is a promise to the tither. This is a promise to the ones who have obeyed Him in this area. This is what God desires to do in our lives as we are obedient. I encourage you to put the Word into practice in this area and believe God to bless you. It is not wrong to expect God to fulfill His Word. It is simply having faith. Faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6).

Getting Our Priorities In Order

WARNING: There is a clear warning in Scripture against covetousness (idolatry). God desires to bless His people but He is against covetousness. The reason is this: He desires to be first palce in our lives. We are to seek Him above anything
else. We are called to be pursuers of God. He wants to be our TREASURE. And if we keep Him as the focus of our lives there is a great promise:

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33

God promises to meet the needs of anyone who will seek Him first. He desires to show Himself strong on our behalf as we look to Him. He is a good God!

Looking At Our Covenant With God

We have a responsibility as Christians to renew our minds (thinking) according to God's Word (Romans 12:2). Faith (confidence in God) does come from hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The word of God is the revealed will of God. So meditate on these Scriptures and find out what God will to do in your life!

11 "And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.
12 "The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
13 "And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
